Qbit Wallet Privacy Policy
Last Updated: October 24, 2026
Introduction
This Privacy Policy applies to the Qbit Wallet extension, operated by Qbit.
This Privacy Policy describes:
- The types of information that may be processed when you download, install, access, or use the Qbit Wallet Chrome browser extension (the "Extension"); and
- Our practices for collecting, using, maintaining, protecting, and disclosing that information.
The Extension is a non-custodial Web3 wallet. It allows users to create or import a wallet, manage blockchain assets, connect to compatible websites and decentralized applications, sign messages, and approve blockchain transactions.
The Extension does not require you to create an account with us. During ordinary use, we do not ask you to provide a name, username, email address, telephone number, or other conventional account-identifying information.
This Privacy Policy applies only to information processed through the Extension and information you voluntarily provide to us in communications relating to the Extension.
This Privacy Policy does not apply to information:
- Collected through any separate Qbit website or service that does not link to this Privacy Policy; or
- Provided to or collected by a third-party website, decentralized application, blockchain network, node provider, application programming interface, or other third-party service.
Third parties may have their own privacy policies and information-handling practices. We encourage you to review those policies before connecting your wallet or providing information to a third party.
Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. If you do not agree with it, do not install or use the Extension.
Children Under the Age of 16
The Extension is not intended for children under 16 years of age, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16.
If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 16, we will take reasonable steps to delete that information. If you believe that a child has provided personal information to us, contact us using the information provided in the "Contact Information" section below.
Information We Collect and How We Collect It
Information may be processed in connection with the Extension:
- Locally within your browser or device;
- Directly from you when you voluntarily contact us; and
- Through communications with blockchain networks, decentralized applications, and infrastructure providers when necessary to perform actions you request.
Information You Provide to Us
The Extension does not require you to provide personal information to create or use a wallet.
If you contact us for customer support, report a problem, report a security vulnerability, or otherwise communicate with us, you may voluntarily provide information such as:
- Your name or alias;
- Your email address or other contact information;
- The contents of your message;
- Screenshots or attachments;
- Your browser, operating system, or Extension version;
- A public wallet address;
- A transaction identifier; or
- Other diagnostic information relating to your request.
We use this information only to respond to your communication, investigate the issue, maintain the security of the Extension, or comply with applicable legal obligations.
Do not provide us with your wallet password, private key, recovery phrase, seed phrase, wallet backup, or other wallet secret. We will never ask you to provide this information through email, support messages, social media, or another communication channel.
Information Stored Locally
The Extension stores certain information locally within your browser or device to provide its wallet functionality. Depending on the features you use, this may include:
- Your wallet password or password-derived authentication or encryption material;
- An encrypted wallet vault;
- Private keys or recovery-phrase information contained within the encrypted wallet vault;
- Public wallet addresses;
- Wallet account names or labels;
- Selected blockchain networks;
- Connected-website permissions;
- Wallet preferences and settings;
- Saved recipients or address-book information, if supported;
- Token lists or asset preferences;
- Locally cached balances or transaction information; and
- Pending transaction or signature requests.
This information is stored using browser-based local storage or similar storage mechanisms on your device. It is used only to provide, secure, and maintain the Extension's wallet functionality.
Your wallet password, password-derived key, private keys, and recovery phrase are not transmitted to or stored on Qbit-operated servers.
Where the Extension creates or imports private keys or a recovery phrase, those wallet secrets are stored locally in encrypted form. We do not have access to them and cannot use them to access your wallet.
The current version of the Extension does not provide Qbit-operated cloud backup or synchronization of your wallet password, private keys, recovery phrase, or encrypted wallet vault.
Public Blockchain Information
The Extension may retrieve, process, or transmit publicly available blockchain information in order to display balances, retrieve transaction history, estimate fees, interact with smart contracts, or submit transactions approved by you.
This information may include:
- Public wallet addresses;
- Public keys;
- Blockchain network identifiers;
- Account balances;
- Token contract addresses;
- Transaction identifiers;
- Transaction inputs and outputs;
- Smart-contract interaction data;
- Transaction-fee information;
- Signed transactions; and
- Other information recorded or intended to be recorded on a public blockchain.
This information may be transmitted to blockchain networks, nodes, remote procedure call providers, indexers, explorers, or other infrastructure providers necessary to carry out your request.
Information recorded on a public blockchain may be publicly visible and may remain available indefinitely. We do not control public blockchain networks and generally cannot modify or delete information recorded on them.
Although a public wallet address does not necessarily include your name, wallet addresses and blockchain activity may be capable of being associated with a particular person when combined with other information.
Automatic Information Collection and Tracking
Current Practices
The Extension does not currently use analytics software, advertising software, or tracking technologies to automatically collect or transmit information about your use of the Extension to us.
In particular:
- Usage Details. We do not collect your general browsing history, search history, unrelated website activity, or information about your activity across unrelated websites. We do not use connected-website information to build a browsing profile or track you across the internet.
- Device Information. We do not currently collect a unique device identifier, advertising identifier, telephone number, mobile network information, or browser fingerprint. The Extension may locally access basic browser or operating-system information when technically necessary for compatibility or wallet functionality, but this information is not transmitted to us for analytics or tracking.
- Stored Information and Files. The Extension does not access metadata or information associated with files stored elsewhere on your device. If the Extension offers a wallet-import or backup-import feature and you deliberately select a file, the Extension processes only the file you selected for that requested purpose.
- Location Information. The Extension does not request, access, collect, or track precise or real-time information about the physical location of your device. We do not use Internet Protocol addresses to create location profiles or track your movements.
Ordinary internet communications may reveal technical information, including an Internet Protocol address, to the third-party service receiving the request. This is described under "Third-Party Information Collection" below.
Potential Future Operational Information
We may introduce limited operational analytics in a future version of the Extension to help us identify technical errors, measure reliability, prevent abuse, or improve wallet functionality.
If introduced, this information may include limited categories such as:
- Extension version;
- Browser type and version;
- Operating-system type;
- Language setting;
- General feature-usage counts;
- Crash or error reports;
- Performance measurements; and
- The date and time of a technical event.
Any future operational analytics will be limited to providing, maintaining, securing, measuring, or improving the Extension. They will not include:
- Your wallet password;
- Private keys;
- Recovery or seed phrases;
- Unrelated browsing history;
- Precise or real-time location information;
- Contact lists;
- Advertising identifiers; or
- Information used for targeted or behavioral advertising.
We will not begin materially different automatic collection solely because it is described as a possible future practice in this Privacy Policy. Before introducing materially different collection, we will update this Privacy Policy and any applicable Chrome Web Store disclosures and provide any notice or obtain any consent required by applicable law or platform policy.
Information Collection and Tracking Technologies
The Extension does not currently use:
- Advertising cookies;
- Tracking pixels;
- Web beacons;
- Clear GIFs;
- Cross-site tracking technologies;
- Advertising identifiers;
- Browser fingerprinting; or
- Similar technologies for marketing or behavioral advertising.
The Extension uses browser-based local storage or similar local storage mechanisms to securely maintain wallet information, preferences, settings, and connected-website permissions. This functional storage is necessary for the Extension to operate and is not used to track your activity across unrelated websites.
We do not use information processed by the Extension to conduct marketing campaigns, serve targeted advertisements, measure advertising conversions, or create advertising profiles.
If we introduce cookies, analytics tools, or similar technologies in the future, we will update this Privacy Policy and provide any disclosure, consent mechanism, or user control required by applicable law or Chrome Web Store policy before the new practice begins.

- Browser or Extension version information;
- Operating-system information;
- The requested blockchain network;
- Public wallet addresses included in the request;
- Blockchain query information;
- Transaction or smart-contract data; and
- Other technical information inherent in an internet request.
When you connect the Extension to a website or decentralized application, that website or application may receive:
- The public wallet address you choose to connect;
- The blockchain network you are using;
- The permissions you grant;
- Messages or transactions you choose to sign;
- Signatures you approve; and
- Transactions you choose to submit.
The Extension may store your connected-website permissions locally so that it can remember which websites you have authorized. We do not use this information to create a general browsing history or track you across unrelated websites.
We do not control third parties' collection, use, retention, or disclosure of information. Information received by a third party is governed by that third party's privacy policy and terms.
How We Use Your Information
We use information processed through or provided in connection with the Extension only to:
- Provide and operate the Extension;
- Create, import, secure, unlock, and manage your wallet locally;

The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Disclosure of Your Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information.
We may disclose or transmit information only in the following circumstances:
- At Your Direction. When you connect to a website or decentralized application, query a blockchain network, sign a message, approve a transaction, or use another third-party feature.
- To Provide the Extension. To infrastructure and service providers where transmission is necessary to provide, secure, maintain, or support the wallet functionality you requested.
- With Your Consent. When you specifically authorize us to disclose particular information for a stated purpose.
- For Legal or Security Reasons. When reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law, a court order, legal process, or lawful government request; investigate fraud or a security incident; enforce applicable terms; or protect the rights, property, or safety of Qbit, our users, or others.
We cannot disclose your wallet password, password-derived key, private keys, or recovery phrase because we do not receive or possess that information.
Your Choices About Our Collection, Use, and Disclosure of Information
You control whether to:
- Create or import a wallet;
- Connect the Extension to a website or decentralized application;
- Share a public wallet address with a connected website;
- Approve or reject a message-signing request;
- Approve or reject a transaction;
- Use an optional third-party integration;

You may disconnect a previously authorized website or remove its permissions using the controls available within the Extension.
You may remove locally stored wallet information by using the Extension's reset or wallet-removal function, clearing the Extension's browser storage, deleting the applicable browser profile, or uninstalling the Extension.
Before deleting local wallet information, make sure you have securely backed up any recovery phrase or other information necessary to restore access to the wallet. Deleting local information without a valid backup may permanently prevent you from accessing your wallet and blockchain assets.
Accessing and Deleting Your Information
We do not maintain a user account or account profile for you.
Wallet information stored locally through the Extension is under your control. Because we do not have access to that information, we cannot access, modify, recover, or delete it on your behalf.
If you have voluntarily provided personal information through a customer-support or security communication, you may contact us to request access, correction, or deletion where applicable. We may need to verify your request and may retain limited information where necessary to comply with applicable law, maintain security, prevent abuse, or establish or defend legal claims.
Support correspondence is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to the request, maintain appropriate business and security records, and comply with applicable legal obligations.
Information recorded on a public blockchain cannot be deleted or modified by us.
Data Security
The Extension is designed to protect wallet secrets using locally stored password-based authentication or encryption material.
We do not have access to or keep a copy of your cryptographic private keys or recovery phrase. If you lose your password, private key, or recovery phrase, we generally have no way to recover it or restore access to your wallet.
No software, encryption method, device, browser, storage system, or internet transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You are responsible for:
- Choosing a strong and unique wallet password;
- Keeping your password, private keys, and recovery phrase confidential;
- Maintaining secure backups;
- Protecting your device and browser profile;
- Keeping your browser and the Extension updated;
- Verifying connected websites and decentralized applications;
- Reviewing message and transaction details before approval; and
- Protecting against phishing, malware, screen sharing, and unauthorized device access.
We will never ask you to disclose your private key or recovery phrase. Anyone who obtains your wallet secrets may be able to control your wallet and blockchain assets.
Changes to Our Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the Extension, our practices, legal requirements, or third-party services.
When we update this Privacy Policy, we will revise the "Last Updated" date at the top of the policy.
If we make a material change to how information is collected, used, or disclosed, we will provide additional notice through the Extension, the Chrome Web Store listing, our website, or another appropriate method. Where required, we will obtain consent before materially different collection or use begins.
